About the Tournament
The Florida Blue Key Speech and Debate Tournament at the University of Florida is the largest student-run forensics competition in the Southeast United States. It is recognized as one of the premier high school debate tournaments in the country. The tournament is held annually each Fall. In 2020, we hosted our first-ever virtual tournament using the software Classroom Cloud.
In the early 1980’s, Florida Blue Key began to sponsor a Speech and Debate Tournament for high school students. Today, our team consists of nine Executive Board Members, nineteen Directors, and forty Assistant Directors. Since our establishment, we have recruited 60 esteemed Gator Guards all throughout the country.
